APOCALYPTIC SEASON Dr Lalith Mendis 30.05.2010
This is a season in which events will quickly gallop. It is a time in which God draws near as described in the prologue to the Book of Revelation. Rev 1:1-4. “Time is Near” – it seems that in every Generation since the Launch of the NT, in a certain season God drew near to level the playing field, as iniquity abounded and the Church was overwhelmed. Matt 24:8 – 13. One such period within recent history was the rise of Hitler. When Hitler could have achieved the coup de tat of global empire, God intervened with strategic dramatic reversals as the Commonwealth nations prayed every day at 9 pm. Hitler getting stuck in Russia in the Winter (just like Napoleon and the angelic help in the air battle over Britain were two such examples. Now is such a time. God will intervene to
- To get His Church on track
- Subdue wicked rulers & wickedness
- Resist empire manoevres by Global predators who try to swallow up sovereign nations (please read my book, “Bride & Beast Battles”
He will cause Human knowledge to fail. I can see that the Lord is making Evolution look a joke. The American Oil spill is making technology look a joke. The caution we need to exercise is that we do not rejoice when we see wickedness put down by God’s direct hand. It only means that God did what He had to do when the Church did not bring salvation to their city. Is 26:9-16. As Churchill reminded Britain at the height of the euphoria regarding the successful Dunkirk retreat, “retreat does not win wars”. There was another D Day of Invasion of Normandy beaches, that signaled the Beginning of the end of Hitler’s rule.
Sri Lanka recently had a storm that flooded out Colombo and the access Road to our only International Airport. Prior to this there was unbearable temperature all over Sri Lanka. I said, “This looks like the calm before the storm”. I expected some form of divine intervention about the much blood that was shed in concluding the war. Blood of all combatants and civilians shed must be propititiated.
Exactly during the planned Anniversary victory celebrations in Sri Lanka – God was weeping buckets of water from the skies. We are sad our city so suffered. How can we the Church make the propitiation by making the politicians accountable rather than criticize them on our arm chairs? The storm was God’s rod on the errant child – Sri Lanka and her Govt. However a child is not made merely by using the rod. The child now has to be discipled in prayer & loving kindness. So if your only mode is, “God taught the Govt a lesson”, you need to change to expect good to come out of judgement and for Him to turn evil to good. If you always like to hear of evil happening to Sri Lanka, then you need to take care that, :vengeance belongs to God”. It is an easy cop out to expect God to do the judge and we stop the loving. Is that how you deal with your wayward child? Every city & nation are a wayward child as far as the Lord is concerned and he makes the Church the Nursing mother. Take care that what happened to Moses (strike with the rod) does not happen to you. What if the Lord judges you tit for tat for all your secret sins?
The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on the US East coast killed eleven initially. It is known that Methane bubbles up from deep within in an oil drill and precautions are taken to diffuse the gas when it surfaces. This time the oil from deep beneath escaped from far deep below (5000 metres) in large quantities and exploded. Daily 200,000 barrels spew out. Weekly one million gallons of oil are leaked out. No technology has been able to stop this. This comes in the wake of no technology being able to stop the ash from Iceland volcano. Did this happen because Obama refused to attend the Presidential breakfast due on May 6th and instead sponsored a Muslim prayer event near White House? Is God Almighty fingering the solar plexus of the knowledge & technology empire of man? All fish had to be dispersed and the oil spill will be carried by Atlantic currents even as far as Ireland. Now we can understand how one third of sea life may perish in apocalyptic judgements Rev 8:8,9.
NASHVILLE FLOODS – MUSIC CITY JUDGED
Entertainment Stronghold judged. On May 4th inexplicable flash floods filled Nashville. The flash floods caught the city off guard, and thousands of residents and tourists were forced to flee. Authorities used motorboats and personal watercraft to rescue residents who had been trapped in their homes. The rapidly rising waters led to the deaths of 17 people in Tennessee, including 10 in Nashville, and officials feared that the death toll could increase. Country music’s landmark, the Grand Ole Opry House, was flooded with several feet of water, and at least 10 feet of water flooded the nearby Gaylord Opryland Hotel complex, indefinitely shutting down one of the nation’s largest hotel and convention centers.
Weather Disasters – God or Principalities
When Zion on earth (bride of Christ) agrees with the Holy Hill of Heaven (HHH) every wind, lightening & weighted cloud will reach the God intended purpose & target. If Zion on earth does not live before the throne of God, principalities use the winds, lightening & clouds for their evil destruction. It’s an issue of who rules over the havens in that city. The battle will happen from city to city. When the Church rules the heavens over their city, climate does the will of God for redemption or retribution. When the Church does not rule the heavens demons do their evil with the natural elements. Job 36:26-33
Job 37:11-16 Also He loads the clouds with moisture; He scatters the lightning cloud, (12) and it is turned around by His guidance, so that they may do whatever He commands them on the face of the world in the earth. (13) Whether as a whip, or for His land, or for mercy, He finds it. (14) Listen to this, Job; stand still, and consider the wonderful works of God. (15) Do you know when God placed them, and caused the lightning of His cloud to shine? (16) Do you know the balancing of the clouds, the wonderful works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
Rulers Of The Earth Confused
Rulers of the earth will feel increasingly impotent as God wrests control from their hands as countries face economic instability, natural disasters & technological blunders. They will speak pompously that which God will rubbish instantly. Church needs to arise as Kings & Priests of the earth and administer the rule of God in their city & nation.
God is judging the global strongholds and their equine standard bearers.
White Horse – knowledge of all sorts – the many “isms”, evolution, Marxism, Freudianism, secular humanism, hedonism
Red Horse – Political Structures
Black Horse – Economics will be judged; especially global economic manipulations will fall foul
Pale Horse – satansim, Entertainment & digital extravaganza, press, media arrogance, air waves will be judged
A wonderful thing is happening in Sri Lanka. National coach of the Rugby team is a Spirit baptized believer. The Team beat Singapore for the first time. They have asked another Spirit baptized believer to take over the Rugby administration. The manager of the Test cricket team is a believer. Three committed believers are in the Parliament.

He refuses to be slack
He is no Napoleon, Pharaoh or Hitler
He is friend, mentor & fond father
Leaving footprints in the sands of time
In the darkest hour his light will shine
There was a Leader who laid down His life
From heaven to share man’s iniquities rife
He became the truth, the way & power of life
For higher life exchange your ego and strife
Cross was His, sacrifice of global renown
Lifts up humanity’s destiny fallen down
Critics & doubts overcoming many a frown
Leader’s head eventually wears a crown
In a world of imitators, abdicators tricksters
Rare commodity are the exemplary leaders
Vanishing breed amidst platitude seekers
Let’s raise a standard for armour bearers
Leader as father, husband. President or other
Leading learning of a lifetime train another
Pass on the baton – early locate a successor

JUDGEMENT WILL COME FROM CITY TO CITY. (written on May 1st)
The Church of each city needs to exercise righteousness and mercy as the scepter pf the Lord’s governance in their city. Some cities will be taken by violence and others will be saved. Matt 24:
Luk 10:10-24 And into whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, going out into the streets say, (11) Even the dust of your city which clings to us, we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near you. (12) But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city. (13) Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented a long while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. (14) But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the Judgment than for you. (15) And you, Capernaum, which has been lifted up to Heaven, you shall be thrust down into hell. (16) The one hearing you hears Me, and he who despises you despises Me; he who rejects you also rejects Him who sent Me.
Four weeks ago it was reported that the Music city of Hollywood, Nashville, has been run over by floods. We expect more targets like Katrina hitting New Orleans. God will judge modern Sodom.
(22) All things are delivered to Me by My Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him. (23) And He turned to His disciples and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see. (24) For I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen them, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard them.
Satan built all his strongholds like a house of cards on deception, lure & lies. Darkness was the building material. When a child of God receives wisdom & revelation about his call & charge and about the signs of the times, that light of wisdom breaks into the ranks of darkness that oppressed and restricted him, and kept in prison those who should have come to the light thru him. It’s a time the Lord battles Egypt & her systems & preserves a Goshen for God’s own. Make your separation lines clear. Don’t get in God’s way.
Light + wisdom = power.

- Redemption – confirmed for us who know Him
Philadelphia – Rev 3:10-11 Because you have kept the Word of My patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation which will come upon all the habitable world, to try those who dwell upon the earth. (11) Behold, I come quickly. Hold fast to that which you have, so that no one may take your crown.
Smyrna – Rev 2:10 Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil will cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tried. And you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life. Rev 3:3 Remember then how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
- Repentance – compelled for those who considered and turned away
Ephesus – Rev 2:4-5 But I have against you that you left your first love. (5) Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and will remove your lampstand out of its place unless you repent.
Pergamos – Rev 2:15-16 So you also have those who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. (16) Repent! But if not I will come to you quickly, and will fight with them by the sword of My mouth.
Laodicea – Rev 3:18-19 I counsel you to buy from Me gold purified by fire, so that you may be rich; and white clothing, so that you may be clothed, and so that the shame of your nakedness does not appear. And anoint your eyes with eye salve, so that you may see. (19) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be zealous and repent.
- Retribution – certified for those who resisted with all their strength – even some in the church
Thyatira – Rev 2:21-22 And I gave her time that she might repent of her fornication, and she did not repent. (22) Behold, I am throwing her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction, unless they repent of their deeds.
William Wallace – all men die. Only few truly live.
